Places to visit
Monasterace is home to the National Archaeological Museum of Ancient Kaulon with its Archaeological Park and the highly recommended Underwater Archaeological Park, accessible by swimming with a mask and fins. These sites preserve Greek ruins such as the Doric temple, the Baths of Nannon and the famous Dragon and Dolphin mosaics dating from the 3rd century BC. In the upper part of Monasterace, a village perched on the hillside, you can visit the Byzantine-era fortress and see the ruins of the city walls.
Activities
The beaches of Monasterace offer the possibility of practicing all types of beach activities: canoeing, sup, pedal boats, kayaking and kitesurfing. Accessing the beach clubs is quite convenient and parking is not far away, so transporting boards and various equipment is simple. The seafront has basketball and volleyball courts, very recent equipment for training by the sea and free showers to freshen up. Inland you will find the hills of Campomarzio which offer trekking tracks and nature trails to venture among peaks overlooking the Ionian coast. A few kilometers away you can visit the small Byzantine church called the Cattolica di Stilo.

Check in from 3 PM and check out by 10 AM. Door-to-door waste collection is regulated by the municipal calendar. Household waste must be appropriately bagged, placed in the appropriate containers provided and left outside the house the evening before the corresponding collection.
